Frequently asked questions about Jira
Unito syncs Jira issues along with their comments, attachments, labels, sprints, assignees, due dates, and custom fields. Field mappings are configurable in both directions, so you control exactly which data flows between Jira and your other tool. Rules let you filter which issues sync — for example, only issues in an active sprint or with a specific label.
Unito supports epics, stories, tasks, bugs, and subtasks, plus other native and custom work item types. It works with Jira Cloud, Jira Server, Jira Data Center, and Jira Service Management. Custom fields are fully supported, including string, number, date, user, and select fields.
Jira Automation rules fire in one direction — to get two-way updates you have to build and maintain a mirror rule for every trigger. Unito links Jira issues to items in your other tool and keeps them synced bidirectionally in a single flow. It also syncs historical issues, not just ones created after setup.
You need Jira administrator permissions once, to connect your Jira account to Unito. After the account is connected, project-level admin permissions are enough to create and manage flows. The setup itself is entirely no-code.
Yes. Unito doesn't rely on live triggers, so its rules apply to issues that already exist in your projects — not just issues created after the integration is set up. That means you can bring an entire backlog into another tool from day one.
