The Top 7 HubSpot Alternatives for Businesses of All Sizes

HubSpot is one of the most popular CRMs out there, and for good reason. It’s a powerful, all-in-one solution for managing every aspect of the customer journey, from marketing to sales and customer support. But all that capability comes with a price. If you need to move beyond their somewhat limited free, or even Pro plan, HubSpot’s prices might just stop you in your tracks. We’re talking thousands of dollars a month, plus thousands more in onboarding fees — rates that are out of reach for most startups and growing businesses. Every tool, even HubSpot, has its alternatives.

Cost isn’t the only reason you might look outside of HubSpot. If reporting or customer support is a priority, for example, you might want to try some alternatives. Luckily, there are so many great CRMs in today’s marketplace that you have plenty of options.

Engagebay’s free plan beats HubSpot in a lot of ways, and their paid plans are much more accessible. For $79.99 a month, you can get similar functionalities as HubSpot’s Enterprise plan, which runs you a whopping $5,000. 

Plus, there are no scary onboarding fees and Engagebay’s billing is a lot more flexible. You’ll pay monthly and can cancel anytime, unlike HubSpot’s ironclad 6- to 12-month contracts. 

Biggest drawbacks

If you’re dead set on a free option, HubSpot still wins by sheer volume. Their free plan offers way more contacts and emails than Engagebay does. Engagebay’s free plan also caps you at 15 users, while there’s no limit on HubSpot’s equivalent option. And if integrations with other tools are a priority, HubSpot is the clear winner. 

But keep in mind that even if HubSpot’s free plan suits you better, it might not work forever — and it’ll be challenging to switch away from HubSpot if it proves unaffordable as your business grows.  


Beyond their Free plan, Engagebay offers three paid tiers: Basic ($11.99 monthly per user) Growth ($39.99), and Pro ($79.99). 

Once you move up from Free, you’ll have access to features like SMS marketing and a landing page builder. A/B testing, phone support, and a custom domain are all part of the more expensive packages. 

ActiveCampaign: best automations

ActiveCampaign is a powerful, automated tool for email marketing and sales funnels as well as a strong HubSpot alternative. Their platform includes features like list segmentation, tagging, predictive sending, and a landing page builder. Beyond email and funnel functionality, ActiveCampaign offers deal tracking and a CRM, making it a good option for B2B and B2C companies. 

Choosing ActiveCampaign over HubSpot might make sense if your organization has a great website. HubSpot is a true all-in-one solution, which means you’ll lose out on some of its value if you’re not using it to build landing pages.

Users find ActiveCampaign’s drag-and-drop campaign builder interface easy and intuitive, with a very low learning curve. Thanks to integrations with WooCommerce, Shopify, Square, and more, it’s especially great for e-commerce. Plus, their reporting capabilities leave HubSpot in the dust. 

Biggest drawbacks

There’s no free plan on ActiveCampaign, and plans beyond their $49/month Pro options do get expensive. 

Also, ActiveCampaign only makes sense if your focus is on marketing automation and email drip campaigns. It doesn’t offer some of HubSpot’s other functionalities, like blogging and social ad management. 


ActiveCampaign’s plans — Lite, Plus, Professional, and Enterprise — are priced based on how many contacts you need to store. 

For a new business with 1,000 contacts, they’d range from $29 to $259 per month. If you have 50,000 contacts or more, you’re looking at at least $339 monthly for a Lite plan.

Ontraport: best HubSpot alternative for e-commerce

Ontraport is an all-in-one tool that’s ideal for e-commerce marketing. Ontraport integrates a lot of different aspects of marketing and sales, like emails, landing pages, and social ads, into one unified funnel that’s automated and much easier to manage. 

It’s intended to manage every stage of the e-commerce customer journey. The whole shopping experience — including payment processing and cart abandonment email flows — can be handled directly within the platform. The platform also includes lots of templates, and users find them a lot easier to edit than HubSpot’s (for which you might need to know some CSS). 

Ontraport promotes themselves as a true all-in-one solution, claiming you won’t need to rely on integrations to get the most from their platform. Their automation and ad management functionalities (including A/B testing) are stellar, and they also offer lead tracking capabilities. 

Biggest drawbacks

There’s no free plan with Ontraport, although its three paid tiers are much more affordable than HubSpot’s. Their reporting dashboard is also not the strongest, and it’s offered only in English and Spanish, compared to HubSpot’s six language options. 


Ontraport’s Basic, Plus, Pro, and Enterprise plans run from $79 to $497 per month, each with an increasing amount of contacts.

But, it’s important to note that Ontraport’s e-commerce features are only offered on the Pro plans and above. 

BIGContacts: Easy to use CRM with email marketing

Sendinblue: best HubSpot alternative for large contact lists

For startups and smaller companies, Sendinblue is a fantastic budget option. They offer similar functionalities to HubSpot, like a CRM, email automation, landing pages, and social ads. Sendinblue even includes some features HubSpot doesn’t, like text message advertising and transactional messaging like invoices and receipts

Sendinblue’s big selling point is its unique pricing structure. All plans offer unlimited contacts, charging by email rather than contact stored. Biggest drawbacks

Sendinblue is an impressive all-in-one option, especially for the price. But HubSpot does offer features you won’t find here. 

Specifically, HubSpot’s pipeline and deal-tracking features are much more sophisticated. Only you can decide if that’s worth spending hundreds — if not thousands — more every month. 


Sendinblue’s Free plan is a great option, and unlike HubSpot, comes with plenty of templates. 

If you’re looking to send up to 20,000 emails a month, their Lite and Paid plans cost $411 and $1059.87 monthly, respectively, adjusted upwards for higher email volume. They also offer custom Enterprise pricing options. 

Drip: best data-driven personalization  

Drip is an automation-heavy solution designed specifically for e-commerce businesses. Drip boasts that their data-driven platform gives even the smallest online storefronts the same personalized marketing abilities as the retail giants. 

The automations they offer are quite sophisticated, and they’re all wrapped up in an appealing, intuitive, and well-designed interface. Drip’s advanced data tracking helps you understand your customers more deeply, including automatically lead-scoring each one. 

Drip also offers many APIs and integrations, so it can work seamlessly with the other tools you use to do business. 

Biggest drawbacks

Drip is mostly intended for email marketing, and secondly as a CRM. It’s not the best option if you also want to handle customer support or any marketing channels beyond email and SMS. 

Some users have also shared that while Drip offers many integrations, it could still benefit from more. Others have found that their drag-and-drop campaign builder could be easier to use.  


Drip offers only two plans — email marketing only, and email + SMS. If you have 1,000 contacts in your list, these will cost you $29 or $32 monthly, adjusted upwards from there. Drip also offers a two-week free trial if you’d like to test it out.
