Frequently asked questions about Asana and Salesforce
Asana’s built-in Salesforce integration (Advanced tier and up) is one-way: it creates and updates Asana tasks from Salesforce changes but writes nothing back. Unito syncs both ways. See our Asana + Salesforce integration guide for a full comparison.
Yes, one-way into Asana. Asana’s built-in Salesforce integration (Advanced tier and up) creates and updates Asana tasks when Salesforce records change; nothing is written back to Salesforce. The older Asana for Salesforce AppExchange app was retired on February 27, 2026.
Yes. A Unito flow can turn a Salesforce case into an Asana task, with the case subject syncing two-way and comments and attachments carrying across. Sync speed depends on webhooks or polling, so updates are fast but not guaranteed real time.
Yes. Picklist values map to Asana single-select options. New picklist values create new Asana options automatically, so sales fields stay in lockstep without admin tickets.
Yes. Account name, ARR, deal stage, owner, and renewal date map to Asana custom fields on the linked task or project. Direction is set per field.
No. Any Salesforce user with access to the relevant records can configure flows. Salesforce admin access is not required for setup or ongoing field changes.
Bidirectional. Asana task name, description, status and assignee sync two-way, as do Salesforce case subject and contact names. Flow direction and per-field direction are set separately, so even a one-way flow can sync field updates both ways.
Yes. Unito rules limit a flow to items matching specific tags, assignees or statuses, and an item syncs only when every condition on the rule is met. Rules can also trigger actions, such as auto-assigning a synced task to a specific person.
