Bugs
Send bugs between engineering teams
When a bug is found in Jira, create a matching issue in GitHub and keep them in sync.
Status, comments and assignee sync both ways, so engineers who logged the bug in Jira follow the fix while the team that owns the repo works it in GitHub.

Stories
Keep outside contributors and internal teams in sync
When an issue is found in GitHub, create a matching story in Jira and keep them in sync.

Tasks
Keep a shared backlog across two dev tools
When an issue is found in GitHub or a task in Jira, create a matching one in the other tool and keep them in sync.
Status, assignee and labels stay matched on both sides, so developers in GitHub work from the same backlog their team plans in Jira.

Frequently asked questions about GitHub and Jira
Unito connects GitHub issues and pull requests to Jira work items in a no-code flow, with fields like title, status and assignee syncing bidirectionally. For the full walkthrough, see our GitHub + Jira integration guide.
Yes. Run a separate flow from the repo into each Jira project. A single Jira Cloud flow syncs one Jira project by default; syncing several Jira projects in one flow isn’t self-serve and needs Unito sales to enable it.
True bidirectional sync. GitHub issue title, description, status, assignee and comments sync two-way with Jira summary, status, assignee and comments. Direction is also set per field, so even a one-way flow can sync field updates both ways. For most connectors, only new comments sync, not edits.
Yes. Unito syncs GitHub pull requests as well as issues with Jira tasks, stories, epics and sub-tasks, so code changes in GitHub stay tied to the Jira work they belong to.
Yes. Jira custom fields such as text, select lists, date pickers, user pickers and URLs map by type, and most can fall back to a text field. Each mapping is set one-way or two-way on its own; a few stay one-way when the other tool has no equivalent field.
Yes. Rules limit a flow to items matching specific tags, assignees or statuses, and every condition on a rule must be met for an item to sync. Rules can also trigger actions, such as auto-assigning a synced work item to a specific person.
Yes, on Enterprise plans. Unito treats GitHub Enterprise Server and Jira On-Premise/Data Center as premium integrations, so Basic and Pro customers need to contact Unito to use them.
