Frequently asked questions about Google Sheets

What can I sync from Google Sheets using Unito?

Unito syncs spreadsheet rows to items in your other tools — each row becomes a linked item that stays updated in both directions. Supported data types include text, numbers, dates, single-select values, checkboxes, and formulas.

What do I need to set up in my spreadsheet to sync it with Unito?

You install the Unito add-on for Google Sheets, which inserts two required columns — UnitoID and Last Modified — that can be hidden but must remain in the sheet. Your sheet also needs a header row naming each column, and only data between the two Unito columns syncs.

How is Unito different from Zapier for Google Sheets?

Zapier pushes new rows one way when a trigger fires. Unito keeps rows and work items continuously linked — edit a cell and the linked task updates, change the task and the row updates. It also syncs rows that already exist in the sheet, not just new ones.

Do I need admin access to Google Sheets to set up Unito?

No — you authorize Unito with your Google account so it can see and edit your sheets, and you need edit access to the spreadsheet itself. Setup is no-code from there: install the add-on, pick your sheet, and map your columns.

Can Unito sync existing spreadsheet data?

Yes. Rows that were already in the sheet before you created the flow can be linked and synced, because Unito doesn't rely on new-row triggers. Keep in mind that rows added by forms or other automations don't sync — rows need to be added manually or by Unito itself.
