We’ve been at it for the last little while, but it is finally here! I am very excited to share the news that the Wrike-JIRA two-way synchronization is now being rolled out. This marks an epic milestone for Unito, and is the first step in more to come this year!
What is this about?
Wrike is one of the most popular project management tools in the world. It is used by high-performing teams worldwide for project monitoring, scheduling, collaboration, and other workflow processes. JIRA, on the other hand, was built primarily to manage software development, and it is one of the most widely used and longest-standing platforms on the market, particularly by agile teams. Separately, they are two behemoths in project management, each with their strengths and targeted audience. Unito’s Wrike-JIRA sync allows for unprecedented collaboration, where JIRA issues can be created in Wrike as tasks and vice-versa, all in an environment that allows you to specify the level of detail you wish to sync & where changes in either platform are automatically synced to the other.
Why is this important?
One of the biggest pain points that have sparked the existence of Unito, is the fact that technical people prefer to work on a platform such as JIRA, since it was built for their type of work, yet the business people such as managers and marketers prefer to work on a platform like Wrike, since it is friendlier for their work processes. However, these two groups that must collaborate together would then work in silos, or one group would have to reluctantly switch to the other’s platform. With Unito two-way synchronization, each one can work in the tool they like best and still get the full picture of what is going on! The ability to synchronize data between Wrike and JIRA has been one of the most demanded & highly awaited integrations, and thus why it is one of the first ones we focused on completing.
How is this going to work?
Since we have a partnership with Wrike, the way to go about setting up the Wrike-JIRA sync, is through Wrike Apps (For Wrike Enterprise accounts-only at this time). Enable the Wrike & JIRA Two Way Sync and open the JIRA Sync Tab. From there, the authorization process is fairly simple and straightforward. All of the necessary settings and steps will be outlined to you as you create the setup within your Wrike account. You can find more information about the Wrike-JIRA sync on the Unito Knowledge Base.
When is this in effect?
You can take advantage of the Wrike-JIRA synchronization starting May 31st, 2016!
